! REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, June 29, 1922, The Council was called to order by the Mayor. Roll call showed the following members present: Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 5; absent, none. The Minutes of the last meeting were read and upon motion of Councilman Haynes were adopted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 5; nayes, none. A communication of Mrs. M. D. Campbell asking for a remission of fine assessed against her, was read and Councilman Haynes moved that one-half of the fine be remitted. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes and Bearight, 5; nayes, none. The communication of Miss Marie Brown, Municipal Nurse, together with certifi cate of Dr. Herff, Surgeon, was read and the clerk was instructed to return said certificate to Miss Browne, by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 5; nayes, none. Mayor Yett nominated Miss Lola Fay Archibald as municipal nurse to take the place of Miss Marie Browne who is incapacitated by illness from the performance of her official duties, as certified to by Dr. Adolf Herff. Nomination was confirmed by following vote. Ayes, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 4 nayes, none, Mayor Yett present but not voting. Councilman Copeland nominated Dr. Z. T. Martin as City Health Officer to succeed Dr. C. H. Brownlee, resigned, Nomination was confirmed by the following Vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Copeland present but not voting. Councilman Copeland nominated Joseph Clayton as special policeman for all parks. Nomination was confirmed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Copeland present but not voting. Councilman Copeland nominated Geo. B. Wade as special policeman to assist in enforcing the traffic laws, to serve without pay. Nomination was confirmed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Copeland present but not voting. Councilman Copeland nominated G. W. Brummett as special policeman to act as watchman at the Walker Properties Association. Nomination was confirmed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Byres, Haynes and Searight, 4; nayes none, Councilman Copeland present but not voting. Councilman Copeland nominated W. H. Trousdale as special policeman to serve without pay, to assist in keeping order at the religious meeting near Costley's store in North Austin. Nomination was confirmed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Copeland present but not voting. Upon the recommendation of Councilman Copeland, the bid of Wm, Bargsley to furnish meat to the city hospital for the period beginning July 1, 1922, and ending December 31, 1922, was accepted as the lowest and best bid, by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes and Searight,5; nayes, none. 31
