38 SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, July 17, 1922, The Council was called to order by the Mayor, Roll call showed the following members present: Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes and Searight; absent, none. Mayor Yett appointed Councilmen Copeland, Eyres and Searight as a committee from the City Council to investigate the matter of the establishment of an abattoir for the City of Austin and report back to the Council. The Council then adjourned, Joers formsby Phily Clest. REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, July 20, 1922, The Council met with the following members present; Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 5; absent, none. The Minutes of the last meeting were read and adopted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 5; nayes, none. Thos. F. Taylor, Attorney for Seton Infirmary, appeared before the Council and asked that the city pay for the motor which was installed at the Seton Infirmary. The matter was referred to the City Attorney for his report back to the Council. The protest of Al Jones, et al, against the establishment of an abattoir on East Ist Street between 25th and 27th blocks, was read and ordered filed. W. E. Long and Sam Sparks appeared before the Council and asked permission to use parts of certain streets surrounding the Old Blind Institute Building from the 16th to 21st of October, inclusive, for the purpose of holding the annual Travis County Fair. The matter was referred to Councilman Searight by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 5; nayes, none. The Council then adjourned. Hornsley C
