REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: AUSTIN. TEXAS, July 27, 1922. The Council was called to order by the Mayor. Roll call showed the following members present: Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Наупев and Searight, 5; absent, none. The Minutes of the last meeting were read and upon motion of Councilman Copeland were adopted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 5; nayes, none. The application of Lone Star Ice Company for permission to erect a platform on the sidewalk along a portion of a building on Colorado and West 2nd Street, upon motion of Councilman Searight was adopted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 5; nayes, none. Upon the recommendation of Robert Rockwood, Fire Marshal, W. E. Seaholm, City Electrician, and C. E. Leonard, City Engineer, the application of W. A, Stephens for permission to install a gasoline pump and tank at #200 South Congress Avenue was granted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 5; nayes, none. , The communication of White, Wilcox and Graves Attorneys for D. A. Bush, asking damages to his property on account of the Sewage Disposal Plant, was read and Councilman Searight moved that same be referred to the City Attorney. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 5; nayes, none. Councilman Copeland introduced the following ordinance: AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE STANDING OF VEHICLES ENGAGED IN THE BUSINESS OF CARRYING PASSENGERS OR FREIGHT FOR HIRE UPON THE STREETS OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN, WITH THE CERTAIN EXCEPTION NAMED IN THIS ORDINANCE: REGULATING THE CONDUCT OF PERSONS IN CHARGE OF SUCH VEHICLES: AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. The ordinance was read the first time and Councilman Copeland moved that the rule be suspended and the ordinance placed on its second reading. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 5; nayes, none. The ordinance was read the second time and Councilman Copeland moved that the rule be further suspended and the ordinance placed on its third reading and final passage.
