The ordinance was read the first time and the Mayor moved that the rule be suspended and the ordinance placed on its second reading. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Haynes and Searight 3; nayes, none, Councilmen Copeland and Eyres absent. The ordinance was read the second time and the Mayor moved a further suspension of the rule and the ordinance placed on its third peading and final passage. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Haynes and Searight, 3; absent, Councilmen Copeland and Eyres, nayes, none. Roll call showed the following members present: Mayor Yett, Councilmen Haynes and Searight, 3; absent, Councilmen Copeland and Eyres. The Minutes of the last meeting were read and upon motion of Councilman Searight were adopted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Haynes and Searight, 3; nayes, none, Councilmen Copeland and Tyres absent. Prof. T. U. Taylor and Dr. E. P. Schoch appeared before the Council and submitted their report on the water supply of Austin. The report was read and ordered filed. Councilman Eyres then entered the council chamber. A committee from the Chamber of Commerce composed of W. F. Long, Sam Sparks, Walter Bremond, Jr., C. B. Cook and Harvey Harrell appeared before the Council and asked that a nominal water and light rate be accorded the Central Texas Fair Association. The matter was referred to Councilman Eyres by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 4; nayes, none, Counciiman Copeland absent. James A. Belger having declined to serve as a member of the Board of Equalization for the term beginning May 1st, 1922, and ending May lst, 1923, Councilman Haynes nominated J. W. Graham as a member of said Board to serve for said term. Nomination was confirmed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Eyres and Searight, 3; nayes, none Councilman Copeland absent: Councilman Haynes present but not voting. , 45
