RINGULAR HAFFTING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, December 15,1922, The Council was called to order by the Mayor. Roll call showed the following members present: Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 5; absent, none, The Minutes of the last meeting were read and upon motion of Councilman Copeland were adopted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 5; nayes, none. A committee from the Humane Society, composed of Mrs. F.W.Crane, Mrs. T. H. Davis, Mrs. Geo. W. Walling and others, appeared before the Council and asked that the Council include the salary of their Humane Officer, with an additional amount of $15.00 per month for upkeep of car, in the budget of the City of Austin for the year 1923. J. W. Ezelle appeared before the Council and asked permission to use East 9th Street from Congress Avenue to Brazos Street on the evening of December 23rd, 1922, for the purpose of having a municipal Christmas tree. The request was granted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Tyres, Haynes and Searight, 5; nayes, none. The monthly reports of W. L. Tyres, Superintendent of Parks and Public Froperty, Sam D. Griffin, Chief of Police, Robert Rockwood, Fire Marshal, C. L. Woodward, Chief of the Fire Department, the Public Health Nursing Association, Secretary United Charities, M. R. Miller, Mechanic Fire Department, Fred Sterzing, Assessor and Collector, and Joe T. Oliver, Auditor of the City Hospital, were read and ordered filed. The application of R. B. Wright to erect a sign at 105 East 5th Street was read and Councilman Haynes moved that the application be referred to the Safety Committee. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 5; nayes, none. Councilman Searight moved that Councilman Copeland be instructed to install a hot water heater in the City Hospital. SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, December 20,1922 The Council was called to order by the Mayor. Woodward, Chief of the Fire Department, appeared before the Council and presented plans for improving the water system of the City on account of the Fire Department and suggested that a committee be appointed to investigate such plans and report back to the Council, Councilman Haynes moved that Councilman Eyres, W.
