Gentlemen: Mr. Townsend and myself made a trip to the furniture store of Mr. Belisch and made an effort to see him, but found him out of his place of business. After we returned we also phoned him to come up and go over the matter with us and were again unsuccessful in locating him. As the time in which we had to not on this matter was so short, we put an assessment of $12,000.00 on the stock, which we thought was a fair assessment. Mr. Belisch has shown us his inventory for 1922 and we believe that the assessment of $8,000.00 that he has agreed to is fair, both for him and the City, and if you in your judgment see fit to reduce this stock we feel that justice will be done. Yours truly, BOARD OF EQUALIZATION, By (Sgd) C. 11. Avery, Secretary, А. . Townsend, President." Upon motion of Councilman Haynes, the above assessment was reduced from $12,000.00 to $৪,০০০.০০, by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Fyres, Haynes and Searight, 5; nayes, none. The Council then recessed.
