142 Railroad Company, the travelling public, and the City; Therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: That permission be granted, and same is hereby given to the InternationalGreat Northern Railroad Company to relocate its said track as in its said applica- tion prayed for, and said Company is hereby authorized to proceed with the work of relocating its said track subject to the supervision of the Superintendent of Streets and Public Improvements. Councilman Searight introduced the following ordinance: AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING THE SANITARY SEVER DEPARTMENT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF STREETS AND PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND PUBLIC PROPERTY, AND OTHERWISE AMENDING AND REPEALING CERTAIN PARTS OF THE ORDINANCE CREATING AND ESTABLISHING THE SANITARY SEVER DEPARTMENT, PASSED AND APPROVED FEBRUARY 20, 1914. The ordinance was read the first time and Councilman Searight moved that the rule be suspended and the ordinance placed on its second reading. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Haynes and Searight, 3; nayes, none, absent, Councilmen Copeland and Eyres. The Council was called to order by the Mayor, Roll call showed the following members present: Mayor Yett, Councilmen Copeland, Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 5; absent, none, The reading of the Minutes of the last meetings was suspended. A committee, composed of Prof. A. N. McCallum and the Board of Trustees of the Austin Public Free Schools, appeared before the Council and asked that the Council consider the issuance of a bond issue of approximately $500,000.00 for the erection of public school buildings in the city. No action was taken on the matter. AFTERNOON SESSION The application of Bobbie Warren Stock Company for permission to erect a tent at the corner of 10th and Brazos Streets for a period of one month to be used for show purposes, was read, and Councilman Haynes moved that the application be granted upon the recommendation of the Safety Committee, such permit to be subject to revocation at any time by the City Council. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Copeland absent. The application of Mrs. E. C. Stewart to erect a gasoline filling station at 1300 South Congress Avenue was read, and Councilman Searight moved that same be granted, upon the recommendation of the Safety Committee. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 4; nayes, none, Counollman Copeland absent. The verbal application of the MK&T Railway Company asking that the five hundredth block south of East 4th Street from Neches to Red River Streets, be exempt from the fire limits, was heard, and after a careful consideration of the same, Councilman Eyres moved that the permit be refused and that the report of the Safety Committee be adopted. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Eyres, Haynes and Searight, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Copeland absent.
