ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, June 5. 1923. ! The Council met with the following members present: Mayor Yett, Councilmen Haynes and Searight, 3; absent, Councilmen Avery and Nolen. The application of W. H. MoRae & Sons to erect a temporary platform on the north side of East 6th Street and East Avenue for the purpose of giving a free entertainment and selling and advertising medicine was read and Councilman Haynes moved that the petition be granted, provided same be conducted under the supervision of the Police Department and Superintendent of Streets and Public Improvements, Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Haynes and Searight, 3; nayes, none, Councilmen Avery and Nolen absent. The Council then adjourned. JaerSfomeby tyr. REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, June 5, 1923. The Council was called to order by the Mayor. Roll call showed the following members present: Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes and Searight, 4; absent, Councilman Nolen. The Minutes of the last meeting were read and upon motion of Councilman Haynes were adopted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery Haynes and Searight, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Nolen absent. Councilman Avery moved that the contract of the City of Austin with the Lake Austin Transportation Company be extended for a period of thirty days from this date. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes and Searight, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Nolen absent. The monthly reports of Fred Sterzing, Assessor and Collector, Mrs. R. C. Walker, Pure Food Inspector, and A. S. Anderson, Public Weigher, were read and ordered filed. The bonds of Fred Sterzing as Assessor and Collector and D. B. Gracy as City Treasurer, were approved and filed. The application of P. O. Wolf for permission to erect a gasoline filling station at the corner of 43rd and Duval Streets was granted by the following vote, upon the recommendation of the Safety Committee: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes and Searight, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Nolen absent.
