none. The Council then recessed, SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, September 17. 1923. The Council was called to order by the Mayor. Roll call showed the following members present: Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, Nolen and Sea- right, 5; absent, none. Councilman Nolen moved that he be authorized to expend $200.00 out of the Public Health Appropriation in a mosquito destroying campaign. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, Nolen and Bearight, 5; nayes, none. The Council then adjourned. REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: bity Bar Austin, Texas, September 20, 1923. The Council was called to order by the Mayor. Roll call showed the following members present: Liayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, Holen and Searight, 5; absent, none. Councilman Haynes moved that J. H. Freeman be granted a permit to establish a hamburger stand for one day during the Hagenbeck-Wallace Shows. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, and Nolen 4, Councilman Bearight present but not voting. Fred Wenzel appeared before the Council and complained of conditions at Eleventh Street east of Sabine Street. The Council then retired to the City Hall furnace room and destroyed by burning the following bonds, according to the certificate of the Mayor and Councilmen: "STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF TRAVIS CITY OF AUSTIN, 000 Austin, Texas, September 20, 1923. This certifies that the undersigned, all together and in the presence of one another, have this day destroyed by burning the following numbered and otherwise described bonds: We destroyed these bonds by burning them in the furnace at the City Hall in the City of Austin, Texas, on this 20th day of September, 1923: 191
