F 222 ! SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, January 9. 1924. The Council was called to order by the Mayor. Roll call showed the following members present: Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes and Searight, 4; absent, Councilman Nolen. Councilman Haynes introduced the following resolution: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: That the following emergency and provisional appropriations are made for the benefit of the several departments which they may serve: For Department "A", Mayor and Superintendent of Public Affairs-- 3,500,00 For Department "B", Revenue - For Department "B", Sanitary ----- ✓ For Department "C", City Hall--- ----------- 1,500.00 5,000.00 1,800.00 For Department "C", Water, Light and Power Department -------- 25,000.00 For Department "D", Streets/ For Department "D", Sanitary Sewer Fund For Department "E", Police --------- For Department "E", Fire ------ For Department "E", Hospital ------ For Department "E", Sub-Department Public Health For Public Health .... These appropriations are intended to be merely temporary and will be substituted by the appropriations of the General Budget, which, presumably, will be passed on or before the Ist day of March, 1924. The above resolution was adopted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, and Searight, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Nolen absent. The application of Sam M. Sullenburger for permission to erect an electric flash light sign on South Congress Avenue near the south approach to Congress Avenue Bridge was read and upon motion of Councilman Haynes was referred to the Safety Committee by the following vote: Ayee, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, and Searight, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Nolen absent.
