Johnson for the building of the Water Filtration Plant be accepted as the lowest and best bid on Item #1 as specified. F. Johnson and the International Filter Company of Chicago, and that the City C lerk be instructed to return certified checks to unsuccessful bidders. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, Nolen and Searight, 5; nayes, none, Councilman Haynes introduced the following resolution: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: That 25% of the ad valorem taxes collected for 1923 be and is hereby apportioned to the General Street Fund, as per Budget of 1924, and the Assessor and Collector is hereby instructed to make such apportionment of the ad valorem taxes of 1923 collected by him and for prior years.
