264 Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, Nolen and Searight, 5; nayes, none, The Mayor laid before the Council the budget of the City of Austin for the year 1924 and same was laid over for final adoption until the next regular meeting. AFTERNOON SESSION: The following bids for auditing the books of the Water and Light Department were opened and read: Morgan, Pickett & Hill of Dallas and Austin; T. B. Trotter Company of Houston, Texas; E. J. Archinard of Fort Worth, Техве; Ernst & Ernst of Houston, Texas; Alamo Auditing Company of San Antonio, Texав; Huddleston & Smith of Austin, Техав. After hearing statements from several representatives of the bidders, awarding of contract was postponed for investigation and consideration of each bid. The Council then recessed, SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, March 28th, 1924. The Council was called to order by the Mayor. Roll call showed the following members present: Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, Nolen and Searight, 5; absent, none. After a careful consideration of all bids for the auditing of the book of the Water and Light Department, Councilman Searight moved that the bid of T. B. Trotter & Company of Houston for an audit of the books for a period of one year be accepted as the lowest and best bid. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, Nolen and Searight, 5; nayes, none. The Council then recessed, SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, March 31, 1924, The Council was called to order by the Mayor. Roll coll showed the following members present: Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, Nolen and Searight, 5; absent, none, Councilman Haynes introduced the following resolution: WHEREAS, it is ofter impossible for members of the Fire Department, the Police Department and the City Hospital to be relieved from duty to collect their salary warrants in person, Therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN:
