The Council then recessed, AFTERNOON SESSION: Councilman Nolen moved that the City Clerk be instructed to furnish the County Clerk with 250 ballots for absentee voters in the Charter Amendment election to be held August 9th, 1924. Motion lost by the following vote: Nayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes and Bearight, 4; ayes, Councilman Nolen, The Council then recessed, SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, July 28.1924. The Council was called to order by the Mayor. Roll call showed the following members present: Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, Holen and Bearight, 5; absent, none. Councilman Avery moved that the bid of Walter Tips Company for four pumps and all necessary electrical equipment be accepted as the best bid, and that the City Attorney, J. Bouldin Rector, be instructed to draw up contract in accordance with the bid of said Walter Tips Company.
