General Contingent Fund, for the purpose of satisfying in full anid judgment, and the City Clerk is hereby instructed to issue a warrant for $350.00, payable out of said fund, in favor of Warren. Loore, Attorney for Richard R.Head, and a warrant for $8.60 payable out of said fund in favor of S. A. Pinilquist, District Clerk, and the Mayor is authorized to execute said warrants and the City Clerk is directed to deliver said warrants to the respective payees upon the delivery to him by said parties respectively of a proper acquittance of said judgment and receipted bill of costs, The Council then recessed, AFTERNOON SESSION Councilman Nolen moved that the claim for $94.50 of Loss Evans for impounded dogs be approved and ordered paid by the City Council, Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, Nolen and Searight, 5; nayes, none. Councilman Haynes moved that . D. Newlin be appointed Presiding Judge in the Seventh Ward at the election to be held August 9th, 1924. Nomination was confirmed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, Nolen and Searight, 5; nayes, none. The Council then recessed, SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: | Austin, Texas, August 5.1924 The Council was called to order by mayor Pro tem Haynes, Roll call showed the following members present: Mayor Pro tem Haynes, Councilmen Avery and Searight, 3; absent, Mayor Yett, Councilman Molen. Councilman Avery moved that the City Council be instructed to return the certified checks of all unsuccessful bidders for pumping equipment. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Pro tem Haynes, Councilmen Avery and Searight, 3; nayes, none, Councilmen Nolen and Mayor Yett, absent. Bids for printing election supplies were opened and read and Councilman Haynes moved that the bid of Tobins be accepted as the lowest and best bid. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, mayor Pro tem Haynes, Councilmen Avery and Searight, 3; nayes, none, Mayor Yett and Councilman Holen absent. Councilman Haynes moved that. T. McElroy be appointed as Presiding Judge in the Second Ward at the election to be held August 9th, 1924. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Fro tem Haynes, Councilmen Avery and Searight, 3; nayes, none, Mayor Yett and Councilman Holen absent. Mayor Pro tem liaynes moved that 1. 2. Walling be appointed Presiding Judge in the Sixth Ward to succeed A. C. Bull resigned.
