Hawley, Consulting Engineer, the cost of said new sedimentation basin to be Twenty-five Thousand and Forty-five and 68/100 dollars ($25,045.68). Councilman Haynes introduced the following: AUSTIN CITY GARBAGE INCINERATOR PLANT NOTICE TO BIDDERS Sealed proposals, addressed to the City Council, Austin, Texas, will be received at the office of Joe Hornsby, City Clerk, City Hall, up to ten (10) o'clock A. M., October 2, 1924, at which time said proposals will be publicly opened, read and considered by the City Council, for the furnishing and erection of a Garbage Incinerator Plant, same to be of a capacity of not less than fifty (50) tons and not more than seventy-five (75) tons daily, and to be accompanied with the written guaranty of the bidder that the operation of said plant will be without odors or fumes, said guaranty to be properly assured upon the execution of contract with the successful bidder. Bidders must submit with proposal a certified check of $2500.00, payable without recourse to the order of W. D. Yett, Mayor, as a guarantee that bidder will enter into contract and execute bond and guaranty within ten days after notice of award of contract, The successful bidder must furnish construction bond to the amount of fifty (50%) per cent of the sum of said bid. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities. Councilman Searight moved that Councilman Haynes be instructed to advertise for bids. Councilman Haynes introduced the following resolution: WHEREAS, there appears to the City Council of the City of Austin that there is a large amount of unpaid taxes on real estate due the City by sundry parties for the year 1923; and WHEREAS, there is an urgent public necessity for the immediate enforcement of collection of said taxes; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it necessary to exert every possible means to enforce the immediate and present collection of said unpaid taxes; and WHEREAS, under and by virtue of the powers conferred on said City Council by the City Charter, the duties of the Assistant City Attorney and his compensation shall be prescribed by the City Council; therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: structed That Harry B. Barnhart, Assistant City Attorney, be and he is hereby inas a part of his duties as Assistant City Attorney, to immediately proceed to collect, by suit or otherwise, all taxes of every kind and character on real property due the City of Austin for the year 1923, the said Harry B.
