specifications attached to said bid, which said bid has been duly accepted by the City Council; therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized and instructed to execute the contract therefor in behalf of the City of Austin, as presented and approved by the City Attorney. The Minutes of the last meeting were read and Councilman Haynes moved that same be adopted. MoWhorter complaining of condition of West Johanna Street in South Austin was read and Councilman Haynes moved that same be referred to Councilman Searight. Pitts was read and or dered filed, B. E. Giesecke appeared before the Council and asked permission to inclose certain portions of West Avenue between 12th and 13th Streets for the convenience of the contractor building an addition to the Junior High School. Councilman Haynes moved that the matter be referred to the City Engineer and Street Commissioner for action, Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, Nolen and Searight, 5; nayes, none. The communication of P. G. Reynolds offering to buy or lease city lot at the corner of East 11th and Red River Streets was read and Councilman Searight moved that the proposition be declined. The report of the Safety Committee upon the application of Davis Brothers for permission to install a gasoline pump and storage tank at 99 Congress Avenue was read and Councilman Avery moved that same be granted as recommended by the Safety Committee. Caldwell and others, protesting against the dust created by the contractors building an addition to the Junior High School, was read and Councilman Haynes moved that the petition be referred to the Police Commissioner to take such action as he sees proper to abate the nuisance. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, Nolen and Searight, 5; nayes, none. The invitation of Travis Post No. 6 of the American Legion to participate in the parade on Armistice Day was read and Councilman Avery moved that the invitation be accepted, with thanks. Councilman Searight moved that theclaims of the Western Union Telegraph Company for $10.70, and the Aetna Life Insurance Company for $25.18, and the expense account of A. L.
