SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, December 5th. 1924. The Council was called to order by the Mayor. Roll call showed the following members present: Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes and Searight, 4; absent, Councilman Nolen. Councilman Avery introduced the following resolution: WHEREAS C. E. Leonard, City Engineer, and John B. Hawley, Consulting Engineer, have heretofore, under date of September 1st, 1924, ordered in writing of J. F. Johnson, General Contractor, in charge of the construction of the Water Filtration Flant for the City of Austin, certain extra work, to-wit: All labor and material necessary to complete the Sedimentation Basin #2, in accordance with the plans and specifications prepared therefor by said Engineers, and said J. v. Johnson, General Contractor, has agreed to do said extra work for the sum of $425,045.68; therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: That the action of said Engineers in ordering said work be and the same is hereby approved and endorsed, and it is agreed to pay the sum above stated for said work, in accordance with the terms of the general contract between the City and said J. F. Johnson, General Contractor. The above resolution was adopted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes and Searight, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Nolen absent. Councilman Avery introduced the following resolution: WHEREAS C. E. Leonard, City Engineer, and John B. Johnson, General Contractor, in charge of the construction of the Water Filtration Plant for the City of Austin, certain extra work, to-wit: All labor and material necessary to complete the concrete fill around cast iron pipe under floor of Sedimentation Basin #2, in accordance with the plans and specifications prepared therefor by said engineers, and said J. F. Johnson, General Contractor, has agreed to do said extra work for the sum of $478.47; therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: That the action of said Engineers in ordering said work be and the same is hereby approved and endorsed, and it is agreed to pay the sum above stated for said work, in accordance with the terme of the general contract between the City and said J. F. Johnson, General Contractor. The above resolution was adopted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes and Searight, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Nolen absent. F. Johnson, General Contractor, has agreed to do said extra work for the sum of $871.00; therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: That the action of said Engineers in ordering said work be and the same is hereby approved and endorsed, and it is agreed to pay the sum above stated for said work, in accordance with the terms of the general contract between the City and said J. F. Johnson, General Contractor. The above resolution was adopted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes and Searight, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Nolen absent. The Council then recessed. SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, December 8.1924. The Council was called to order by the Mayor. Roll call showed the following members present: Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes and Searight, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Nolen absent. Councilman Avery moved that the Water Filtration Plant be completed to ten million gallons capacity, provided that terms can be arranged with the International Filter Company. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes and Searight, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Nolen absent. Council thewadjourned. Joey !
