REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, February 26,1925. The Council was called to order by the Mayor. Roll call showed the following members present: Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, Nolen and Searight, 5; absent, none. The Minutes of the last meeting were read and Councilman Searight moved that same be adopted. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, Nolen and Searight, 5; nayes, none. The petition of P. H. Boring and other residents of West Johanna Street, South Austin, asking that certain improvements be made, was read and Councilman Haynes moved that same be referred to the Street Commissioner. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ауев, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, Nolen and Searight, 5; nayes, none. Councilman Haynes introduced the following resolution: WHEREAS, it appears from the statement of the Board of Equalization herewith attached that an error was made in placing a valuation of $4500.00 on improvements on West part of Lot 1, Outlot 50, Division "E", assessed to J. L. Taff for taxes of 1924, and that the valuation of said improvements should be $4125.00, Therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: That in order to correct said erroneous assessment, the Assessor and Collector be and he is hereby instructed to reduce the assessment of said improvements from $4500.00 to $4125.00, and to take credit for the difference of $375.00. The above resolution was adopted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, Nolen and Searight, 5; nayes, none. The Mayor introduced the following ordinance: AN ORDINANCE MAKING IT A MISDEMEANOR FOR ANY PERSON TO SEND IN, OR CAUSE TO BE SENT IN, A FALSE ALARM OF FIRE, AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF SAID ORDINANCE. The ordinance was read the first time and Councilman Haynes moved that the rule be suspended and the ordinance placed on its second reading. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, Nolen and Searight, 5; nayes, none. The ordinance was read the second time and Councilman Haynes moved that the rule be further suspended and the ordinance placed on its third reading and final passage. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, Nolen and Searight, 5; nayes, none. The ordinance was read the third time and Councilman Haynes moved that the same do now finally pass. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, Nolen and Searight, 5; nayes, none. The Mayor introduced the following ordinance: AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE FIRE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN, AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ORDINANCE. The ordinance was read the first time and Councilman Haynes moved that the rule be suspended and the ordinance be placed on its second reading. Motion 389 390 prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, Nolen and Searight, 5; nayes, none. The ordinance was read the second time and Councilman Haynes moved that the rule be further suspended and the ordinance placed on its third reading and final passage. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, Nolen and Searight, 5; nayes, none. The ordinance was read the third time and Councilman Haynes moved that the same do now finally равв. SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, March 4, 1925. The Council was called to order by the Mayor. Roll call showed the following members present: Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, Nolen and Searight 5; absent, none. The Council took up for consideration the budget of the City of Austin for the year 1925 but no final action was taken upon same. The Council then adjourned. The Minutes of the last meetings were read and Councilman Haynes moved that same be adopted. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, Nolen and Searight, 5; nayes, none. The application of Jefferson Edmundson to erect a gasoline filling station at 501 East 14th Street was read and Councilman Haynes moved that same be referred to the Safety Committee. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, Nolen and Searight, 5; nayes, none, The application of John C. Wende for permission to erect a gasoline filling station on the Barton Creek Road was read and Councilman Haynes moved that same be referred to the Safety Committee. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, Nolen and Searight, 5; nayes, none. The monthly reports of C. N. Avery, Superintendent Water and Light Department, J. N. Littlepage, City Marshal, Fred Sterzing, Assessor and Collector, Mrs. R. C. Walker, Pure Food Inspector, Miss Anna R. Fuchs, Municipal Nurse, and the Financial Report of City Hospital, were read and ordered filed.
