452 corner, thence Easterly at a right angle with Windsor Road for a distance of approximately 62 feet to intersection with the North line of Pease Park, and thence in a Westerly direction with the North line of Pease Park for a distance approximately of 95 feet to the place of BEGINNING. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that said deed shall be delivered to said Smiths upon their execution and delivery of a deed to the City of Austin, of the following described property: BEGINNING at the Northeast corner of a certain lot or tract of land, being a part of Outlot No. 8, in Division "2", in the City of Austin, and a part of the Geo. W. Spear League in Travis County, Техав, аs conveyed by deed of R. Niles Graham and Margaret Graham Oruseman and her husband, Paul Cruseman, by W. M. Counoilman Avery moved that the hearing of the property owners on West 32nd and 33rd Streets be held over until next regular meeting of the City Council. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery and Nolen, 3; nayes, none, Councilmen Haynes and Searight absent. Councilman Avery moved that C E. Leonard, City Engineer, be granted a two weeks leave of absence. The Council was called to order by the Mayor. Roll call showed the following members present: Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, and Nolen, 4; absent, Councilman Searight. The Minutes of the last meeting were read and adopted. The application of R. H. Kirby to erect a bath room and kitchen in the rear of the Travis Hotel was read and referred to the Safety Committee by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes and Nolen, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Searight absent. The fine of Albert Bartlett was remitted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes and Nolen, 43; nayes, none, Councilman Searight absent. The claim of Mrs. Mary Babel for damages on account of an electric wire being down on Rosewood Avenue was read and referred to the City Attorney for his report back to the Council. Councilman Avery moved that the hearing of the property owners on West 32nd and West 33rd Streets be left open and adjourned from time to time until further action of the City Council. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes and Nolen, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Searight absent. C. L. Woodward, Chief of the Fire Department, appeared before the City Council and asked permission to purchase fire hose to the amount of 2000 feet. Permission was granted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, Nolen and Searight, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Searight absent. The communication of N. A. Dawson in the matter of opening a street in Bouldin Addition was referred to the City Attorney. Councilman Haynes introduced the following resolution: WHEREAS, it appears from the records of the Assessor and Collector that T. E. Thrasher and G. A. Dahlin both assessed the North 35x120 feet of Lots 7 and 8, Block 64, for the year 1924, and paid on each assessment. It further appears that T. E. Thrasher sold said property to G. A. Dahlin and the аваеваment by said G. A. Dahlin was the proper rendition, : Therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: That the City Clerk be and he is hereby instructed to draw warrant in favor of T. E. Thrasher for the sum of $23.00, amount of tax erroneously paid by him. The above resolution was adopted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, Nolen, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Searight absent. The application of the Magnolia Petroleum Company to erect a warehouse at the intersection of Perdenales and East 5th Streets, together with the Safety Committee's report upon same, was read and Councilman Avery moved that same be granted. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, Nolen, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Searight absent. The application of H. F. Ritter to erect an ice vault at the corner of 23rd Street and East Avenue was read and refe rred to the Safety Committee by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, and Nolen, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Searight absent. The report of the Safety Committee upon the application of F. M. Hamitlon to erect a gasoline filling station at 1303 South Congress Avenue was read and Councilman Avery moved that same be adopted, as recommended by the Safety Committee. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, and Nolen, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Searight absent. The reports of J. N. Littlepage, City Marshal, and C. N. Avery, Superintendent of the Water, Light and Power Department, for the month of June were read and ordered filed. The Council then recessed. 453
