REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Aantin, Texue, Jeptember 10,1925. The Council was called to order by the Mayor. 1. ? El wed li.e f.1lowing members present: Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes and Nolen, 4; absent, Councilmen Searcht. , The Minutes of the last meeting were read and Councilman Haynes moved that some be adopted. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, and Wolen, 4; mayes, none, Councilman Searight absent. The petition of Wiley Wallace was presented and read and Councilman Haynes moved that same be referred to the City Attorney and officers in charge of the cemeteries. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, and Nolen, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Searight absent. The petition of Mrs. Ada. C. Penn, et al., asking the City to open 32nd Street west to Grandview Street was read and referred to the Street Department. The petition of R. B. Sibley and other residents of Bellvue Place was read and Councilman Avery moved that the petition be laid on the table for further consideration. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, and Nolen, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Seericht absent. The reports for August of Jno. W. Pfeffer, City Sexton, W. D. Walker, Dairy Inspector, Mrs. E. Schulz, Superintendent Nurses City Hospital, and 7. F. Davis, Bookkeeper Sewer Department, were read and ordered filed. Councilman Haynes introduced the following ordinance: AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE STANDING OF VEHICLES ON WEST EIGHT STREET IN THE CITY OF AUSTIN, CUMULATIVE OF CERTAIN ORDINANCES HERETOFORE ORDAINED, REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PRESCRIBING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE. The ordinance was read the first time and Councilman Haynes moved that the rule be suspended and the ordinance be placed on its second reading. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery Haynes, and Nolen, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Searicht aksent. The ordinence was read the second time and Councilman Haynes moved a further suspension of the rule and the ordinance be placed on its third reading and final равваде. Councilman Haynes moved that all buildings in the course of construction be visited by the City Fire Marshal and that the contractors be req ired to see that building permits were taken out for same.
