486 REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, October 29.1925. The Council was called to order by the Mayor. Roll call showed the following members present: Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, and Nolen, 4; absent, Councilman Searight. The Minutes of the last meetings were read and Councilman Haynes moved that same be adopted. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, and Nolen, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Searight absent. The bid of Jno. L. Martin for renovating the heating system at the City Hall, in the sum of $329.00, was read and Councilman Haynes moved that the bid be accepted. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, and Nolen, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Searight absent. Councilman Avery moved that the City Attorney be instructed to contest an injunction issued by the District Court of Travis County on this date in Cause, styled Mrs. Nellie T. Evans vs. City of Austin. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, and Nolen, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Searight absent. The petition of J. O. Buaas and other property owners, asking that the City have West 5th Street paved from Lavaca to Guadalupe Streets, was read and Councilman Haynes moved that same be referred to the Street Department. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, and Nolen, 4 ; nayes, none, Councilman Searight absent. The communication of Hugh S. McKeown and other property owners on West 18th Street, asking that certain street improvements be made between Congress Avenue and Colorado Street, was read and referred to the Street Department by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, and Nolen, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Searight absent. The petition of Monroe Hodges and other residents of East 13th and 14th Streets, asking that certain improvements be made, was read and Councilman Avery moved that same be referred to the Street Department. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, and Nolen, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Searight absent. The communication of R. W. Thompson, Agent for Bells Floto Shows, asking for permission to exhibit in Austin on November 16th, 1925, was read and Councilman Наупев moved that the permit be granted and that said show be required to make a cash deposit of $200.00 with the City Assessor and Collector to insure the city against any damages that might occur and to be under the supervision of the Police and Street Departments Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, and Nolen, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Searight absent. The petition of Telford A. Barnhouse and other residents of Hyde Park, asking that a storm sewer be erected in Hyde Park was read and Councilman Avery moved that same be referred to the Street Department.
