SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: i ! Austin, Texas, November 13, 1925. The Council was called to order by the Mayor. Roll call showed the following members present: Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, and Nolen, 4; absent, Councilman Searight. The bids for paving 4th Street were taken up and after comparison of same, all bidders being heard, Councilman Avery moved that the bid of W.E. Dozier with five year maintenance at a cost of $2.10 per square yard, as designated on his schedule as Proposition #3, be accepted as the lowest and best bid and the City Attorney, J. Bouldin Rector, be instructed to draw contract and that bond be required of said W. E. Dozier. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, and Nolen, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Searight absent. The Council then recessed. SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, November 16th, 1925. The Council was called to order by the Mayor. Roll call showed the following members present: Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes and Searight, 4; absent, Councilman Nolen. A. C. Bull and Gillespie Stacy, two members of the Insurance Committee, appeared before the Council and submitted certain recommendations. The Council deferred action upon same. The application of C. C. Street to install a gasoline storage tank at 4011 Guadalupe Street was read and Councilman Avery moved that the application be referred to the Safety Committee. Motion prevailed by the followin vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, and Searight, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Nolen absent. The communication of R. P. Brooks of the Kroeger-Brooks Construction Company, asking that the city set aside a space on 7th and Lavaca Streets for storage of material and working space in the construction of the Lone Star Chapter No. 6 R.A.M. building, was read and Councilman Haynes moved that same be granted, but same to be constructed under the supervision of the City Engineer. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Counailmen Avery, Haynes and Senright, 4; nayes, none, Councilman Nolen absent. The following resolution was read: and BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: That the contract entered into by and between the City of Austin J. 7. Maxwell for the collection of delinquent taxes on real estate and personal property assessed and paid in connection therewith for the year 1922 and all prior years, which said contract was dated the 16th day of September, 1924, and expired on the 16th day of September, 1925, be and the same is hereby renewed for a period of one year from the 16th day of September, 1925, and to continue in full force and effect as to all things until the 16th day of September, 1926.
