REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, December 17, 1925. The Council was called to order by the Mayor. Roll call showed the following members present: Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, Nolen and Searight, 5; absent, none. The Minutes of the last meeting were read and Councilman Haynes moved that same be adopted. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, Nolen and Searight, 5; nayes, none. , The application of G. L. Rowe to install a gasoline tank and filling station at 816 West 12th Street together with the Committee's report upon same, was read and Councilman Searight moved that same be adopted. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, Nolen and Searight, 5; nayes, none. , The following communication of C. L. Woodward was read and Councilman Haynes moved that the Mayor be authorized to offer a reward of Fifty Dollars for the arrest and conviction of any person willfully turning in a false fire alarm. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, Nolen and Searight, 5; nayes, none, "Austin, Texas, December 16,1925. To the Honorable Mayor & Board of Commissioners, City of Austin. Gentlemen: This department is being continually annoyed by receiving false alarme of fire. During this year seventy such alarms have been received. The practice of willfully reporting such false alarms of fire is both very expensive to the city and extremely dangerous to the lives of both the members of the fire department and the public generally who have occasion to use the streets of the city. I would respectfully request that your body offer a standing reward of not less than $50.00 for information that will lead to the arrest and conviction of any person that knowingly transmite in any way, such false alarm of fire. Respectfully submitted, (Sgd) C. L. Woodward, Chief of Fire Department." J. W. Graham appeared before the Council and asked permission to decorate the clock near the Elks Hall. Councilman Avery moved that such permission be granted. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, Nolen and Searight, 5; nayes, none. The following certificate was read and ordered filed: "Austin, Texas, December 17,1925.
