REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, December 24, 1925. The Council was called to order by the Mayor. Roll call showed the following members present: Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, Nolen, and Searight, 5; absent, none. The Minutes of the last meeting were read and Councilman Haynes moved that same be adopted. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, Nolen, and Searight, 5; nayes, none. C. W. Moore appeared before the Council and offered to dedicate certain parts of Blocks 1 and 2, Fairview Park, for street purposes. Councilman Avery moved that the matter be referred to the City Attorney for his report back to the Council at its next regular meeting. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, Nolen, and Searight, 5; nayes, none. The resignation of Dr. S. A. Woolsey, Assistant City Health Officer, effective January 1st, 1926, was read, and Mayor Yett moved that same be accepted with regrete. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, Nolen, and Searight, 5; nayes, none. Mayor Yett, nominated Dr. Lee Edens as Assistant Health Officer, to succeed Dr. S. A. Woolsey, resigned. Nomination was confirmed by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, Nolen, and Searight, 4; nayes, none, Mayor Yett present but not voting. Councilman Haynes introduced the following resolution: WHEREAS, the appropriation of $2200.00 for gasoline for the Police Department in the Budget of 1925 is overdrawn and bills of the Gulf Refining Company for gasoline for September and October are due and unpaid, amounting to $274.34 and cannot be approved by the Superintendent of Receipts, Disbursements and Accounts, Therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: That the said bills be and are hereby approved for payment. Councilman Nolen moved that the above resolution be adopted. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Yett, Councilmen Avery, Haynes, Nolen, and Searight, 5; nayes, none. The communication of J. B. Rector, re: Comal Street and Oakwood Cemetery, was read and ordered filed. The Committee's report upon the application of the English Sign Company to remove an electric sign at 113 West 6th Street to the Texan Hotel on West 7th Street was read and Councilman Avery moved that same be granted as recommended.
