Young, No. 12 Cumming Street, appeared before the Council and complained of encroachment upon his property by gravel haulers. Councilman Searight moved that the City Engineer be instructed to make a survey of the west line of East Avenue and Cumming Street and report back to the Council. The application of George's Service Station for permission to install a gasoline pump and underground tank at East 6th and Waller Streets, together with the Committee's report upon same, was read and Councilman Searight moved that same be granted as recommended. White, was read and ordered filed. Mayor Yett introduced the following resolution: WHEREAS, on November 15, 1886, the City Council of the City of Austin, Travis County, Texas, passed that certain City Ordinance in words and figures substantially as follows, to-wit: "AN ORDINANCE LOCATING RIVER STREET: 'BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: 'Sec. 1. That River Street shall be and is hereby located as follows, to-wit: Beginning at a point on the West line of East Avenue seventy feet south of Lot No. One in Block No. One of subdivision of Outlots Nos. 72 and 73, in Division "E", Driskill and Rainey's Addition to the City of Austin; Thence West at right angles to East Avenue to the Colorado River; Thence down said river sixty feet to a stake; Thence Eastwardly parallel 557 558 and with the first line to East Avenue; Thence Northwardly with the West line of East Avenue to the place of beginning. 'Sec. 2. That River Street as shown on the maps or plat of said Driskill and Rainey Addition to the City of Austin be and the same is hereby abandoned and discontinued. 'Sec. 3. Soudder by deed dated July 9, 1894, and recorded in Book 126, page 304, of the Travis County Deed Records, and on January 21, 1903, conveyed by M. R. Scudder to Mrs. E. J. Showalter (now Mrs. E. J. J. Bolton be appointed as advice expert in connection with the Texas Power & Light Company's proposition to furnish power to the City of Austin, said employment to be evidenced by contract to be drawn by the City Attorney as proposed.
