Mayor MoFadden nominated O. W. Goddard as City Health Officer of the City of Austin. Nomination was confirmed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor McFadden, Councilmen Barker, Mueller, Pannell, and Reed, 5; nayes, none. Councilman Reed introduced the following ordinance: AN ORDINANCE CREATING AND ORGANIZING VARIOUS ADMINISTRATIVE DEPARTMENTS OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN. The ordinance was read the first time and Councilman Barker moved that the rule be suspended and the ordinance placed on its second reading. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor McFadden, Councilmen Barker, Mueller, Pannell, and Reed, 5; nayes, none. The ordinance was read the second time and Councilman Reed moved that the rule be further suspended and the ordinance placed on its third reading and final passage. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor McFadden, Councilmen Barker, Mueller, Pannell, und Reed, 5; nayes, none. The ordinance was read the third time and Councilman Reed moved that same be finally passed. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor McFadden, Councilmen Barker, Mueller, Rannell, and Reed, 5; nayes, none. Mayor MoFadden administered the oaths of office to the following named officers: Adam R. Johnson; C. M. Browne; C. W. Goddard; Ed R. Kone. Councilman Reed moved that the Council recess subject to call of the Mayor. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor McFadden, Councilmen Barker, Mueller, Pannell, and Reed, 5; nayes, none. The Council then recessed. O.W.McFadden mayor. RECESSED MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, July 3rd, 1926. The Council was called to order by the Mayor. Roll call showed the following members present: Mayor McFadden, Councilmen Barker, Mueller, Pannell, and Reed, 5; absent, none. Councilman Reed moved that the City Attorney be instructed to compile the city charter, in accordance with the late amendments, and that the City Manager be instructed to have about five hundred (500) copies of said charter printed in pamphlet form, as compiled and prepared. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor McFadden, Councilmen Barker, Mueller, Pannell, and Reed, 5; nayes, none. filed: The following communication of T. B. Trotter & Company was read and ordered "Austin, Texas, July 3, 1926. Honorable Mayor and City Council, City of Austin, Texas. Gentlemen: We wish to submit our proposal for an audit of the accounts and records of the City of Austin, Texas, for the period beginning January 1st, 1926, and ending June 30, 1926. For the accomplishment of the above, we submit the price of $20.00 per day for senior accountants and $15.00 per day for junior accountants; it being fully 591 592 understood that not more than one senior accountant shall be in charge of any one department at any one time, and that at no time will there be more than two senior accountants on the job. It is further understood that the accounts and records of the City shall be audited in detail for each and every department and that work is to be completed at the earliest possible moment. 1" Yours very truly, T. RECESSED MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas, July 7, 1926. The Council was called to order by the Mayor. Roll call showed the following members present: Mayor McFadden, Councilmen Barker, Mueller, Pannell, and Reed, 5; absent, none. W. D. Yett appeared before the Council in reference to certain judgment warrant #15198 for $892.50. No action was taken by the Council. The Finance Committee of the School Board, composed of R. G. Mueller, John C. Ross, and Brown Robbins, appeared before the Council with reference to the completion of the building program of the Public Schools, and asked that as early action as possible be taken with reference to the completion of same. Councilman Reed moved that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare for the approval of the Council at its next regular meeting an ordinance covering the $150,000.00 issue of bonds voted June 25th, 1926, for school purposes. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor MoFadden, Councilmen Barker, Mueller, Pannell, and Reed, 5; nayes, none. Councilman Reed moved that the City Counciladjourn until ten o'clock A.M.
