Councilman Reed moved that the above requests be granted and that City Manager Adam R. Johnson make such report of same as he sees proper. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor McFadden, Councilmen Barker, Mueller, Pannell, and Reed, 5; nayes, none. Mayor McFadden introduced the following resolution: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: That there is hereby created an account, to be known as "Salary of City Manager", and the unexpended balances of the salary of Mayor, the salary of Superintendent of Department of Receipts, Disbursements & Accounts, the salary of Superintendent of Department of Water, Light & Power, the salary of Superintendent of Department of Streets, Public Property and Improvements, and salary of Superintendent of Police and Public Safety, as said items appear in the general budget of the City of Austin for the year 1926, be and the same are hereby transferred to the General Fund and credited to said account to be known as "0ity Manager's Salary", and the various appropriations in said budget .heretofore made for the respective salaries of said superintendents be and the same are each hereby repealed. The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: That in all cuses where it is estimated that the extensions of water or electric lines will not yield a gross income of twenty (20%) per cent or better on the investment in such extensions, the City Manager in authorized to contract with parties so situated and desiring water or electric light service to construct such extensions at the cost of such parties, said parties to he reimbursed by the City at the rate of five times the pross amount annun..ly realized by the City from the sale of water or electricity to patrons having a direct connection with such extensions, but provided that in no event shall the City make such annual refund payments longer than for ten years, regardless of whether or not the entire amount of costs has been refunded at the end of such period. 595 596 The above resolution was adopted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor McFadden, Councilmen Barker, Mueller, and Punnell, 4; nayen, none, Councilman Reed absent. , Wm. H. Stacy appeared before the Council and asked that the City extend sewer line through Block 30, Travis Heights. Councilman Barker moved that City Manager Adam R. Councilman Barker moved that the City Manager be authorized to take up and pay off above notes. Councilman Barker moved that the City Manager be authorized to sell, by sealed bid, all city cars not now in use, except two Buicks and one Jordan. Councilman Barker moved that the expense accounts of Mayor McFadden, Councilmen Barker, Mueller, Pannell, and Reed, and City Manager Johnson, incurred in making trip to Fort Worth for the purpose of having conference with Commissioners and City Manager be ratified and approved and City Manager Johnson, be authorized to pay same.
