REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: L. Austin, Texas, February 14, 1929. The Council was called to order by the Mayor Pro tem. Roll call showed the following members present: Mayor Pro tem Pannell, Counollmen Mueller, and Steck, 3; absent, Mayor Mofadden, and Councilman Reed, 2. Mayor Pro tem Pannell laid before the Council the following resolution: THAT the sum of $15,500.00 be and the same is hereby transferred from the Water & Light Fund and credited to the following Bond Funds; this amount to be repaid the Water & Light Fund out of proceeds received from the sale of bonde recently made: To Hospital Bond Fund To Street Improvement Bond Fund Total $2,000.00 13.500.00 $15,500.00 The above resolution was adopted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Pro tem Pannell, Councilmen Mueller and Steck, 3; nays, none, Mayor MoFadden and Councilman Reed absent. The Minutes of the last meeting were read and Councilman Mueller moved the adoption of same as read. Motion was seconded by Councilman Steck and same prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Pro tem Pannell, Councilmen Mueller, and Steck, 3; nays, none, Mayor McFadden, and Councilman Reed absent. Mayor Pro tem Pannell laid before the Council the following resolution: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: THAT the sum of $6500.00 be and the same is hereby transferred from the General Fund and credited to the Street Improvement Bond Fund; said amount to be repaid the General Fund out of proceeds to be received from the sale of Street Improvement Bonds recently made. The above resolution was adopted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Pro tem Pannell, Councilmen Mueller and Steck, 3; nays, none, Mayor MoFadden and Councilman Reed absent. Mayor Pro tem Pannell laid before the Council the following resolution: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUST IN: THAT the sum of Twenty-five Thousand, Two Hundred, Ninety-eight and 55/100 Dollars ($25,298.55) be and the same is hereby appropriated out of the Interest and Sinking Fund for the purpose of purchasing, for Interest and Sinking Fund securities, Twenty-five (25) City of Austin Sanitary Sewer Bonds, in denominations of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) each, dated November 1st, 1928, and numbered One (1) to Twenty-five (25) inclusive, at par plus accrued interest. The above resolution was adopted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Pro tem 93 94 Pannell, Councilmen Mueller and Steck, 3; naye, none, Mayor Mofadden and Councilman Reed absent. Mayor Pro tem Pannell laid before the Council the following resolution: WHEREAS, Austin Gas Company has presented to the City Council tentative maps or plans showing the proposed construction of its gas mains in the streets in the City of Austin hereafter named, and said maps or plans have been considered by the City Council, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN THAT Austin Gas Company be, and the same is hereby, permitted to lay and construct gas mains in and under the following streets: (1) A 4 inch high pressure gas main on Fannin Street, beginning at a point 32 feet south of and 17 feet east of the intersection of the north line of West 5th Street and the west line of Fannin Street. Thence southerly along a line 17 feet distant from and parallel to the west line of Fannin Street to the north line of West 4th Street, said gas main to have a cover of not less than 1 1/2 feet. (2) A 4 inch gas main on Avenue A, beginning at a point 140 feet south of and 34 feet east of the intersection of the south line of West 44th Street and the west line of Avenue "A"; Thence northerly along a line 34 feet distant from and parallel to the west line of Avenue "A" to the south line of West 45th Street, said gas main to have a cover of not less than 1 1/2 feet. (3) A 4 inch gas main on Jefferson Street or Blanco Road, beginning at a point 27 feet west of and 40 feet south of the intersection of the west line of Jefferson Street and the north line of West 34th Street. Thence westerly 12 feet along a line 40 feet distant from and parallel to the north line of West 34th Street to a point. Thence southerly along a line 15 feet distant from and parallel to the west line of Jefferson Street or Blanco Road to the north line of West 33rd Street, said gas main to have a cover of not less than 1 1/2 feet. Before starting construction of this work, the Austin Gas Company is required to have this line shown its workmen by the City Engineers office. That the work and laying of said gas mains, including the excavation in the streets and the restoration and maintenance of said streets after said mains have been laid, shall be under the supervision and direction of the City Manager, and under all the pertinent terms and conditions of the certain franchise granted to said Company by the City of Austin. The above resolution was adopted by the following vote: Ayes, Mayor Pro tem Pannell, Councilmen Mueller and Steck, 3; naye, none, Mayor McFadden and Councilman Reed absent. Councilman Mueller moved that the Council recess, subject to call of the Mayor.
