SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: 525 Austin, Texas, November 25,1932. The Council met for a further consideration of tax appeals. Roll call showed the following members present: Councilmen Alford, Gillis, Mayor McFadden, Councilman Mueller, 4; absent, Councilman Steck, 1. In considering the appeal of Mrs. Prudence Bailey, filed by L. A. Robbins, from the valuation placed by the Board of Equalization on the improvements situated on Lot 6, Blook 29, Original Oity, Plat 11, the Council sustained the recommendation of the Tax Department that the two-thirde taxable valuation on said improvements be placed at $13,085.00, by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen Alford, Gillis, Mayor McFadden, Councilman Mueller, 4; naye, none; Councilman Steck absent, 1. In considering the appeal of Felix Cherico from the valuation placed by the Board of Equalization on the improvements located at 510 Congress Avenue, on 18 feet of Lot 3, Block 55, Plat 8, the Council authorized no change in the existing valuation of $4575.00, but on the improvements located on Lot 5 and the north one foot of Lot 4, Block 29, Original City, Plat 11, a change in the two-thirds taxable valuation from $8800.00 to $7020.00 was authorized by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen Alford, Gillis, Mayor McFadden, Councilman Mueller, 4; nays, none; Councilman Steck absent, 1. In considering the appeal of E. C. Gaines from the valuation placed by the Board of Equalization on the improvements on Lot 3, Block 37, Plat 1, Original Oity, located at 16th and Guadalupe Streets, the Council authorized a two-thirds taxable valuation of $600.00, by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen Alford, Gillis, Mayor McFadden, Counoilman Mueller, 4; naye, none; Councilman Steck absent, 1. In considering the appeal of Albert R. Davis from the valuation placed by the Board of Equalization on the improvements located at 702-702+ West 25th Street, on 44x120 feet of the south one-half of Outlot 52, Division "D", Plat 49, the Council Bustained the recommendation of the Tax Department that the two-thirds taxable valuation on same be placed at $7035.00, by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen Alford, Gillis, Mayor MoFadden, Councilman Mueller, 4; naye, none; Councilman Steck absent, 1. In considering the appeal of S. J. Von Koenneritz on behalf of Addie Jones, from the valuation placed by the Board of Equalization on the improvements located at 2410 Grandview the Council authorized a reduction in the two-thirds taxable valuation on same from $115.00 to $65.00, by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen Alford, Gillis, Mayor MoFadden, Councilman Mueller, 4; nays, none; Councilman Steck absent, 1. , In considering the appeal of 8. J. Von Koenneritz on behalf of Charles Dunk from the valuation placed by the Board of Equalization on the property located at 141.0 East 19th Street, the Council authorized no change in the valuation of the lot, but authorized a reduction in the two-thirds taxable valuation on the improvements from $1515.00 to $1235.00, by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen Alford, Gillis, Mayor McFadden, Councilman Mueller, 4; naye, none; Councilman Steck absent, 1. In considering the appeal of J. B. Robertson, Margaret Robertson, W. T. Robertson, Mre. Zeno 0. Ross and husband, from the valuations placed by the Board of Equalization, the Council sustained its action of 1931 in making no change in the valuations of said property, by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen Alford, Gillis, Mayor McFadden, Councilman Mueller, 4; nays, none; Councilman Steck absent, 1. Councilman Alford moved that the Council recess, subject to call of the Mayor. Motion was seconded by Councilman Gillis and same prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen Alford, Gillis, Mayor McFadden, Councilman Mueller, 4; nays, none; Councilman Steck absent, 1. The claim of F. O. McKinsey, in the amount of $300.00, for damages sustained to his automobile on November 9, 1932, in a collision with a city truck at the intersection of East Eleventh and Trinity Streets, was read and filed.
