166 SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Austin, Texas. July 24, 1933. The Counoil was called to order by Mayor Pro tem Wolf. Roll call showed the following members present: Councilmen Alford, Bartholomew, Gillis, Mayor Pro tem Wolf, 4; absent, Mayor Miller, 1. Mayor Pro tom Wolf stated that the meeting was called for the purpose of electing two members of the Board of Equalization to f111 the vacancies on said Board. The following communication from 0. P. Ledbetter, tendering his resignation as a member of the Board of Equalization was read: The Honorable Mayor & City Council, City of Austin, Austin, Texas. Gentlemen: "Austin, Texas, July 24, 1933. I hereby tender my resignation as a member of the Board of Equalisation for the unexpired term ending May 1, 1934. (Sgd) C. P. Ledbetter. Counoilman Gillis moved that the above resignation of C. P. Ledbetter as a member of the Board of Equalisation be accepted. The motion was seconded by Councilman Alford and same prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen Alford, Bartholomew, 011118, Mayor Pro tem Wolf, 4; nays, none; Mayor Miller absent, Mayor Pro tom Wolf nominated K. R. Meyer as a member of the Board of Equalization for the term ending May 1, 1935. The nomination was seconded by Councilman Alford and same was confirmed by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen Alford, Bartholomew, G11118, Mayor Fro tem Wolf, 4; nays, none; Mayor Miller absent, 1. Mayor Fro tom Wolf nominated J.B. Webb as a member of the Board of Equalization to fill the unexpired term of O. P. Ledbetter, ending May 1, 1934. The nomination was seconded by Councilman 01111s and same was confirmed by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen Alford, Bartholomew, Gillis, Mayor Pro tom Wolf, 4; nays, none; Mayor Miller absent, 1. Councilman Alford moved that the Council recess, subject to call of the Mayor. The motion was seconded by Councilman Gillis and same prevailed by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen Alford, Bartholomew, Gillis, Mayor Pro tem Wolf, 4; nays, none,Mayor Miller absent.
