305 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: THAT our Congressman James P. Suchanan be requested and urged, as strongly as possible, to do everything within his power to procure from the Reconstruction Finance Coporation, or some other instrumentality of the Federal Government, sufficient funds to complete said Hamilton Dam Project. The resolution was adopted by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen Alford, Bartholomew, Gillis, Mayor Miller, and Councilman Wolf, 5; nays, none. A written proposal from Guy E. Cook to build and operate a riding stable on the two-acre tract northeast of Pease Park, between shoal Creek and shoal Oreek Boulevard, and to pay the City ten per centum of the receipts from same as rental, was received. The City Manager was directed to refer the matter to the Park Board for approval, and, if agreeable to said Board, to enter into contract with the said Guy E. Cook in accordance with his proposal. Councilman Alford moved that the Council recess, subject to call of the Mayor. The motion was carried by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen Alford, Bartholomew, Gillis, Mayor Miller, and Councilman Wolf, 5; nays, none. The ordinance was read the first time and Councilman Alford moved that the rule be suspended and the ordinance placed on its second reading. Mayor Pro tem Wolf laid before the Council the following resolution: WHEREAS, The Southwestern Bell Telephone Company has presented to the City Council tentative maps and plans showing the proposed construction of its pole lines in the streets in the City of Austin hereafter named, and said maps or plans have been considered by the City Engineer; therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: THAT the southwestern Bell Telephone Company be and the same is hereby permitted to construct its pole lines in the following streets: (1) A telephone pole line in EAST AVENUE from Hawthorne Street to Kalmar Street, the centerline of which pole line shall be 11 feet west of and parallel to the east property line of said East Avenue; (2) A telephone pole line in HAWTHORNE STREET from East Avenue to Longfellow Street, the centerline of which pole line shall be 9 feet south of and parallel to the north line of said Hawthorne Street. (3) A telephone pole line in EAST AVENUE ALLEY from Hawthorne Street to Kalmar Street, the centerline of which pole line shall be one foot west of and parallel to the east line of said East Avenue Alley. THAT the work and construction of said pole lines, including the excavation of the streets and the restoration and maintenance of said streets after said pole lines have been constructed, shall be under the supervision and direction of the City Manager. Mayor Pro tem Wolf laid before the Council the following resolution: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: THAT the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized and directed, in behalf of the City of Austin, to sell to Henry Viscardi and Charles Perroni, for the consideration of Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00), One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) cash and the balance evidenced by note for Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00), payable on or before one year after date, with seven percent (7%) interest, the following parcel of land: All that certain parcel of land situated in the City of Austin, Travis County, Texas, and described as follows: The west twelve and one-half (1.123) feet off of the tract of land heretofore deeded by Maude E. F. White et al. to the City of Austin, by deed dated August 4, 1931, and recorded in Book No. 470, pages 628-629 of the Deed Records of Travis County, Texas, said last mentioned tract of land being 34x170 feet, a part of Lot No. 15 of a Subdivision of 252 acres out of the George W. Spear League, and being particularly described by metes and bounds as follows, towit: Beginning at a point on the north line of that part of said Lot No. 15, conveyed by J. C. Petmecky and wife to E. J.Hofheins by deed dated the 7th day of December, A. D. 1903, and recorded in Book No. 190, page 69 of the Records of Travis County, Texas, said point being at the intersection of the west line of Westlyn or West Lynn Street with the said north line of said tract conveyed to E. J. Hofheinz as aforesaid, said west line of said street being the west line as shown in conveyance from Ed J. Hofheinz to the City of Austin, bearing date the 9th day of March, A. D. 1909, and recorded in Book No. 226, pages 446-447 of the records of Travis
