SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: 621 Austin, Texas, December 31, 1934. The meeting was called to order with Mayor Pro tem Wolf presiding. Roll call showed the following members present: Councilmen C. F. Alford, Simon Gillis, and Mayor Pro tem Wolf, 3; absent, Councilman C. M. Bartholomew and Mayor Tom Miller, 2. : The City Manager submitted a letter from Julian Montgomery, State Engineer, PWA, advising that the contract for the 36" main outfall sewer, PWA Docket 2863, Eng. Ref. No. 66a, must be awarded on the basis of machine labor as the construction of the project by hand labor would increase the cost approximately $17,000.00. The following report of the engineering staff was then read: "Austin, Texas December 13, 1934. Docket No. 2863 Project No. 66a 36" Main Outfall Sewer. Hon. Mayor and City Council Austin, Texав. Gentlemen: We submit herewith tabulation of bids received and opened at 10:00 A. M., December 12, 1934, on the 36" Main Outfall Sewer, PWA Dooket No. 2863, Project No. óga. Ten bids were received and tabulated as herein indicated. It is the recommendation of the engineering staff that the bid of Froemming Bros., Inc. Dallas, Texas, totaling $48,762.16, for the installation of a 36" precast reinforced concrete pipe as indicated by their unit prices set forth in their proposal, be accepted. Green. 11 Counoilman Alford then offered the following resolution: WHEREAS, In accordance with the requirements of the Federal Emergency Administration of Public Works and the provisions of the City Charter of the City of Austin, Texas, pгоровal for bids for the various works under P. W. A. Dooket No. 2863, Eng. Ref. No. 68a; was duly advertised to be received by the City Manager and to be opened at 10 o'clock A. M., Wednesday, December 12, 1934, at the City Hall in the City of Austin, Texas; and and WHEREAS, At said time and place said bids were publicly opened and read as specified; WHEREAS, Thereupon it was found that Froemming Bros., Inc., Dallas, Texas, was the lowest and best bidder for that part of the work designated under Docket No. 2863, Eng. Ref. No. 66a, towit, for the construction of a "36-inch precast reinforced concrete outfall sewer line," and that said bid was regular and proper in all particulars; therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: THAT said bid of Froemming Bros., Inc., for the construction of the "36-inch precast reinforced concrete outfall sewer line," for the aggregate sum of 848,762.16, based upon 旅
