721 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: THAT the aforesaid penalty in the sum of 337.88 and one-half of the interest in the sum of $64.97, are hereby remitted, and the Tax Assessor and Collector of the City of Austin is authorized and directed to charge said penalty of $37.88 and one-half the interest amounting to $64.97 off his rolls and to issue to the party entitled to receive same e receipt in full upon the payment of said taxes and one-half the interest, as aforesaid, if paid by November 1, 1939. The resolution was adopted by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen Bartholomew, Gillis, Mayor Miller, and Councilman Wolf; naye, none; Councilman Alford absent. Upon motion, seconded and carried, the meeting was recessed at 12:15 P. M., subject to call of the Mayor. Attyst: City Clerk SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Approved: Jom Milla. On this, the 18th day of August, 1939, the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas, convened in special session at the regular meeting place thereof in Austin, Texas, with the following members present, towit: Tom Miller, Mayor, Oswald G. Wolf, Councilman, C. M. Bartholomew, Councilman, and simon Gillis, Councilman; and the following being absent: C. F. Alford, Councilmen, constituting a quorum, and, among other business transacted, the following resolution was adopted: WHEREAS, the City Council deems it advisable and necessary to borrow money for the purpose of the improvement, enlargement, betterment, extension and repair of the light and power works and system of the City of Austin and to issue revenue notes, as authorized by Article XXI of the Charter of the City of Austin, and to provide for interest and sinking fund out of the receipts, revenues and income derived from the operation of the water, light and power works and system of said City sufficient to pay said notes at maturity; and WHEREAS, it is proper and necessary that the City give notice of its intention to issue such interest bearing revenue notes; therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS: THAT the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized, ordered and instructed to do all things necessary and/or convenient to have published the notice required by Chapter 163, 722 Acts of the Regular Session of the 42nd Legislature of Texas; that said notice shall signify the intention of the City Council of said City to issue not exceeding $400,000.00 of interest bearing revenue notes to mature on or before two years from their date, to bear interest at the rate of one and one-half (11%) per cent per annum from date, and to be payable out of the receipts, revenues and income derived from the operation of the water, light and power works and system of said City, such revenue notes to be issued for the purpose of securing funds to be used for the purpose of the improvement, enlargement, betterment, extension and repair of the light and power works and system, or any part of same, owned by the City of Austin. The above resolution being read, it was moved by Councilman Gillis, and seconded. by Councilman Wolf, that same do pass. Thereupon, the question being called for, the following members of the City Council voted AYE: Councilmen Bartholomew, Gillis, Mayor Miller, and Councilman Wolf; and the following voted NO: NONE. THE STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF TRAVIS CITY OF AUSTIN 1 NOTICE OF INTENTION TO ISSUE REVENUE NOTES In compliance with the provisions of Chapter 163, Acts of the Regular Session of the Forty-second Legislature, 1931, notice is hereby given that it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Austin, Texas, to pass an Ordinance on the 2nd day of September, 1939, authorizing the issuance of CITY OF AUSTIN REVENUE NOTES in an amount not exceeding $400,000.00, for the purpose of securing funds to be used for the purpose of the improvement, enlargement, betterment, extension and repair of the light and power works and system, or any part of same, owned by the City of Austin, said notes to be payable out of the receipts, revenues and income derived from the operat lớn of the water, light and power works and system of said City, said notes to bear interest from their date at the rate of one and one-half (14%) per cent per annum, and to matune on or before two years from their date.
