The following ausolation was introduced by Commelan DE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ימים יס CITY OF AUSTIN: TAT the sum of $126.00 30, and the samo is hereby, appropriated out of the Water & Light Find, not otherwise appropriated, for the purpose of paying the increase in Bular for the months of October, November, and December, 1940, for Walter Scaholm, Superintendent of the Electric Division. Upon motion of Councilman Wolf, the foregoing resolution was adopted by the following rotet Ayes, Connellmon Alford, Bartholomew, Gillis, Mayor Hiller, and Councilman Wolf; naye, none. It was the sonse of the mouting that the proposed Retirement and Pensioning System Ordinenco be amended in the following particularst (1) That Articlo IV, Momborship, Section 1 (b), be amended to provide a six months probationary period before any person becoming an employco after the date of establishment of the Retirement System shall become a member of said System. (2) That Article VIII, Investments of the Board, Section 1 (a), bo anended in the last line by substituting the word "oblications" for the word "bonds", and by inserting the word "bonds" bofore the words, "of the United States," and "of the Stute of Texas." (3) That Article III, Administration, Soction 5, bo amonded in the last sentenco, by substituting the word "five for the word "four", so that sald sentence shall read as follower "Tivo concurring voton shall be necessary for a duetsion by the members at any meeting of the Board, and five mombors shall constituto a quorum." It was the sense of the meeting that Registration Day, October 16, be declared a holiday for city employеев. Upon motion, seconded and carried, the meeting was recessed at 6:15 P.
