17 CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS Recessed Meeting April 17, 1944 10:45 Α. Μ. Council Chamber, City Hall 279 The meeting was called to order, with Mayor Miller presiding. Roll call Present: Councilmen Alford, Bartholomew, Gillis, Mayor Miller Absent : Councilman Wolf 1 - - 4 The Mayor announced that this was a joint meeting with the City Plan Commission, the Junior and Senior Chambers of Commerce, the School Board, and all other interested citizens to consider the City Plan insofar as it relates to future subdivisions north of the City of Austin, and particularly with reference to the Click Subdivision and the Orphans Home of St. John's Baptist Association tract; and to discuss the present rules and regulations of the City Plan Commission pertaining to subdivisions. Thereupon a general discussion of the question was entered into. It being the consensus of opinion that the City should acquire same, the Acting City Attorney was instructed to continue for ten days longer the negotiations for the purchase of the Orphans Home of St. John's Baptist Association tract.
