Council Chamber, City Hall The meeting was called to order, with Mayor Pro tem. Bartholomew presiding. Roll call Present: Councilmen Alford, Gillis, Mayor Pro tem. Bartholomew Absent : Mayor Miller and Councilman Wolf 2 - 3 Present also: Guiton Morgan, City Manager; J. E. Motheral, City Engineer; W. T. Williams, City Attorney; and R. D. Thorp, Chief of Police. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of August 30, 1945, were read, and on motion of Councilman Alford were adopted as read by the following vote: Ayes : Councilmen Alford, Gillis, Mayor Pro tem Bartholomew Noes: None Absent: Mayor Miller and Councilman Wolf T. N. GRIFFIN came before the Council and complained of a mosquito nuisance in Govalle caused by improper drainage of that area. After some dis- cussion, the City Engineer was instructed to take the matter up with the County officials and find out what they would be willing to do to relieve the situation, as the greater part of the area in question lies outside of the city limits. The application of RAYMOND HARVEY FARLEY, 3213 Liberty Street, for a taxicab driver's permit, duly approved by the City Manager, was submitted. Council- man Alford moved that the permit be granted. Citizens Loan & Investment Company, it appearing to the Court that all taxes and costs owing the City of Austin, as contained in said judgment, have been paid.
