CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS SPECIAL MEETING CITY COUNCIL May 09, 1946 4:00 P. M. The meeting was called to order with Mayor Miller presiding. Roll Call: 423 Present: Absent: Councilman Bartholomew, Mayor Miller, and Councilman Wolf Councilman Alford Present also: Guiton Morgan, City Manager; Trueman O'Quinn, City Attorney; Walter E. Seaholm, Director of Public Utilities; J. E. Motheral, Director of Public Works; W. T. Williams, Jr., Assistant City Attorney. Mayor Miller announced that the special meeting had been called by him at the request of various citizens of Austin who had asked that the action of the City Council in passing a preliminary canvass of the bond election returns earlier in the day be rescinded. These citizens, the Mayor explained, had requested that the action be rescinded so as to allow more time for consideration of the entire question before final and official canvass of the election returns should be made at the next regular meeting of the City Council. After some discussion, and after hearing from various citizens attending the meeting, Mayor Miller made a motion, duly seconded by Councilman Wolf, that all action previously taken by the City Council in canvassing the returns of the special election of May 7, 1946, and declaration of the results thereof be in all respects recinded and revoked. The motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Noes; Absent Councilman Bartholomew, Mayor Miller, and Councilman Wolf None Councilman Alford There being no further business, upon motion, made and seconded, the meeting recessed at 5:45 Р.М.
