CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS Recessed Meeting March 17, 1949 3:30 Ρ.Μ. Council Chamber, City Hall 155 The meeting was called to order, with Mayor Miller presiding. Roll call: Present: Councilmen Bartholomew, Glass, Johnson, Long, Mayor Miller Absent: None Present also: Guiton Morgan, City Manager The purpose was to discuss the operation of the City Coliseum, the rates to be charged and anything else pertinent to the operation of the Coliseum. Representatives from the various civic clubs, Chambers of Commerce, and Retail Merchants Association were present. After a lengthy discussion of this matter, Councilman Glass moved that the following Committee be appointed to make a study of this and report to the City Manager and he in turn to make recommendations to the Council: Messers Charles L. Sandahl, Rev. George Beto, Tom Graham, John Barclay, Dewey Welch, Oliver Wolf, and Joe Carrington. The motion carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Bartholomew, Glass, Johnson, Long, Mayor Miller Noes: None There being no further business, upon motion of Councilman Johnson, the meeting was recessed, subject to call of the Mayor, by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Bartholomew, Glass, Johnson, Long, Mayor Miller Noes: None Jom Milla.
