CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS Recessed Meeting April 8,1949 2:15 Ρ.Μ. Council Chamber, City Hall 177 199 The meeting was called to order, with Mayor Miller presiding Roll call: Present: Absent: Councilmen Bartholomew, Johnson, Long, Mayor Miller Councilman Glass Present also: Guiton Morgan, City Manager The Mayor laid before the Council the following ordinance: AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE NORTH LINE OF EAST EIGHTH STREET, THE WEST LINE OF BRAZOS STREET, AND THE HAST LINE OF AN ALLEY TRAVERSING BLOCK 97 OF THE ORIGINAL CITY OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN, AS THE LINES OF SAID STREETS AND ALLEY ABUT LOTS 9, 10, 11, AND 12, BLOCK 97, OF THE ORIGINAL CITY OF AUSTIN; AND WAIVING ANY CLAIM WHICH THE CITY OF AUSTIN MAY HAVE FOR REAL OR SUPPOSED ENCROACHMENT ON SAID STREETS AND SAID ALLEY; AND SUSPENDING THE RULE REQUIRING THE READING OF ORDINANCES ON THREE SEPARATE DAYS. The ordinance was read the first time and Councilman Bartholomew moved that the rule be suspended and the ordinance passed to the second reading. The motion carried by the following vote: Councilmen Bartholomew, Johnson, Long, Mayor Miller Ayes: Absent: Councilman Glass Noes: None The ordinance was read the second time and Councilman Bartholomew moved that the rule be suspended and the ordinance passed to the third reading. The motion carried by the following vote: Councilmen Bartholomew, Johnson, Long, Mayor Miller Ayes: Absent: Councilman Glass Noes: None The ordinance was read the third time and Councilman Bartholomew moved that the ordinance be finally passed. The motion carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Bartholomew, Johnson, Long, Mayor Miller Absent: Noes: Councilman Glass None 200 CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS The Mayor then announced that the ordinance had been passed finally. 200 There being no further business, upon motion of Councilman Johnson, the meeting was recessed, subject to the call of the Mayor.
