Council Chamber, City Hall 322 In pursuance of call by Mayor Taylor Glass, the City Council convened in special session at the regular meeting place in the Council Chamber in the Municipal Building on Monday, June 13, 1949, at 4:00P.M. with the Mayor presiding. Roll call: Present: Councilmen Drake, Johnson, Long, MacCorkle, Mayor Glass Absent: None The following NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING was ordered spread on the Minutes: NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: Notice is hereby given that a special meeting of the City Council of the City of Austin will be held on the 13th day of June, 1949, at the Municipal Building, Eighth and Colorado Streets, in Austin, Texas, at four o'clock P.M. for the purpose of adopting ordinances for the issuance of bonds of the City of Austin in accordance with the sale conducted at the regular meeting of the City Council June 9, 1949. MACCORKLE The following ordinance was introduced by Councilman Johnson: AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS, TOTHE AMOUNT OF FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($50,000.00) FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTING AND IMPROVING HANGARS AND OTHER BUILDINGS FOR THE MUNICIPAL AIRPORT OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN AND FOR ACQUIRING NECESSARY LANDS AND EQUIPMENT THEREFOR; PROVIDING FOR THE PAYMENT OF SAID BONDS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. The ordinance was read the first time and Councilman Drake moved that the rule be suspended and the ordinance be passed to its second reading. The motion was seconded by Councilman Long and the same prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Drake, Johnson, Long, MacCorkle, Mayor Glass Noes: None Absent: None The ordinance was read the second time and Councilman Drake moved that the rules be further suspended and the ordinance be passed to its third reading. The motion was seconded by Councilman Long and the same prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Drake, Johnson, Long, MacCorkle, Mayor Glass Noes: None Absent: None The ordinance was read the third time and Councilman Drake moved that the ordinance be finally passed. The motion was seconded by Councilman Long, and the same prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Drake, Johnson, Long, MacCorkle, Mayor Glass Noes: None Absent: None The Mayor announced that the ordinance had been finally passed. ( CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS The following ordinance was introduced by Councilman Mac Corkle: AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS, TO THE AMOUNT OF ($750,000.00) FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTING, IMPROVING, AND REPAIRING PUBLIC FREE SCHOOL BUILDINGS OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN AND FOR ACQUIRING NECESSARY LANDS AND EQUIPMENT FOR SAID SCHOOLS; PROVIDING FOR THE PAYMENT OF SAID BONDS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. 324 The ordinance was read the first time and Councilman Drake moved that the rules be suspended and the ordinance be passed to its second reading.
