Roll Call: CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS 2 412 MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS Special Meeting July 19, 1949 3:00 Ρ.Μ. Council Chamber, City Hall The meeting was called to order with Mayor Glass presiding: Present: Councilmen Drake, Long, MacCorkle, Mayor Glass Absent: Councilman Johnson Present also: Guiton Morgan, City Manager: Trueman E. O'Quinn, City Attorney; J. F. Motheral, Director of Public Works. The Mayor offered the following resolution and moved its adoption: (RESOLUTION) WHEREAS, the City of Austin entered into a contract with McKown & Sons. general contractors, for the construction of certain improvements, including excavation, paving, curbs and gutters, and storm sewers, on Lamar Boulevard in the City of Austin, Texas, on or about February 10, 1949, for a total cost of $241,024,16; and WHEREAS, said contract was let upon competitive bids based upon plans and specifications providing that the contract might be altered, reduced, or extended; and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined to extend said contract in certain particulars; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: That Guiton Morgan, City Manager, be and he is hereby authorized and directed to enter into an extension of and supplement to said contract with McKown & Sons, as follows: For additional work on Lamar Boulevard from the north property line of 38th Street to the south property line of 45th Street as follows: Unclassified Excavation 4654 c.y. at $0.67 ATTEST: Paving CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS 413 9975.2 s.y. at $2.49 Curb and Gutter 3753 1.f. at $0.92 Storm Sewer 120 ft. of 18" pipe at $ 2.30 90 ft. of 15" pipe at 1.90 30 ft. of 66" pipe at 20.00 9- 10' inlets at 125.00 Which motion carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Drake, Long, MacCorkle, Mayor Glass Noes: None Absent: Councilman Johnson Acting City Clerk APPROVED Mayor
