Council Chamber, City Hall 431 In pursuance of call by Mayor Taylor Glass, the City Council convened in special session at the regular meeting place in the Council Chamber in the Munici pal Building on Friday, July 22, 1949, at 11:00 A. M. with the Mayor presiding. Roll call: Present: Councilmen Drake, Johnson, Long, MacCorkle, Mayor Glass Absent: None The following NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING was ordered spread on the Minutes: NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: Notice is hereby given that a special meeting of the City Council of the City of Austin will be held on the 22nd day of July, 1949, at the Municipal Building, Eighth and Colorado Streets, in Austin, Texas, at eleven o'clock A.M. for the purpose of fixing date for the sale of $7,150,000 City of Austin, Texas, Electric Light and Power, Water Works, and Sewer System Improvements and Extension Revenue Bonds, as authorized by the electorate at a special election held May 16, 1949. Dated this July 21, 1949. JOHNSON Councilman Johnson offered the following resolution and moved its adoption: (RESOLUTION) BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: That the resolution heretofore passed by the City Council July 14, 1949, authorizing and directing the City Manager to advertise for bids on $2,850,000.00 City of Austin Water, Electric, and Sanitary Sewer Revenue Bonds for ten o'clock A. M. August 18, 1949, be and the same is hereby repealed and the action of the City Council in directing the $2,850,000.00 of said bonds be sold is reconsidered and revoked. Which motion, having been duly seconded, carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Drake, Johnson, Long, MacCorkle, Mayor Glass Noes: None Councilman Drake offered the following resolution and moved its adoption: (RESOLUTION) BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to advertise for bids on the sale of Revenue Bonds of the City of Austin at ten o'clock A.M., August 18, 1949, which bonds were authorized for issuance by the electorate May 16, 1949, as follows: City of Austin, Texas, Electric Light and Power Water Works, and Sewer System Improvements and Extension Revenue Bonds" $7,150,000.00 Advertisement for such bids shall be in the usual and customary form adopted and followed in advertising general obligation bonds, and shall be published at least once in a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of Austin and in The Bond Buyer. The right shall be reserved to the City of Austin to reject any and all biäs, and advertisements shall direct the filing of sealed bids to be opened by the City Council at its regular meeting at the 433 CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS 433 time and on the date set forth above.
