457 CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS Special Meeting August 26, 1949 Council Chamber, City Hall. The meeting was called to order, with Mayor Glass presiding. Roll Call Present: Councilmen Drake, Johnson, Long, Mayor Glass Absent : Councilman MacCorkle The following Notice of Special Meeting and Consent to Meeting were ordered spread on the Minutes: "NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: Notice is hereby given that a special meeting of the City Council of the City of Austin willbe held on the 26th day of August, 1949, at the Municipal Building, Eighth and Colorado Streets, in Austin, Texas, at three o'clock P. M. for the purpose of adopting an ordinance authorizing issuance of $7,150,000 Revenue Bonds of the City of Austin. Dated this 26th Day of August, 1949. 1 (s) (8) TAYLOR GLASS Mayor City of Austin, Texas. Elsie Woosley Acting City Clerk City of Austin, Texas. CONSENT TO MEETING We, the undersigned members of the City Council, hereby accept service of the foregoing notice, waiving any and all irregularities in such service and such notice, and consent and agree that said City Council shall meet at the time and place therein named, and for the purposes therein stated. 499 500 CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS 500 /s/ W. Johnson /s/ Mrs. Stuart Long Councilman Johnson introduced the following ordinance: # AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF SEVEN MILLION ONE HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($7,150,000.00) ELECTRIC LIGHT AND POWER, WATER WORKS AND SEWER SYSTEMS IMPROVEMENT AND EXTENSION REVENUE BONDS, 1949 SERIES, OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS; PRESCRIBING THE FORM, TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SAID BONDS, PROVIDING FOR THE PAYMENT THEREOF AND THE OBLIGATIONS OF THE CITY WITH RESPECT THERETO AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH ADDITIONAL BONDS MAY BE ISSUED. The ordinance was read the first time and Councilman Johnson moved, seconded by Councilman Drake, that the rule be suspended and the ordinance be passed to its second reading. The motion carried by the following vote: Ayes Noes : Councilmen Drake, Johnson, Long, Mayor Glass : None Absent : Councilman MacCorkle The ordinance was read the second time and Councilman Johnson moved, seconded by Councilman Drake, that the rule be suspended and the ordinance be passed to its third reading. The motion carried by the following vote: Ayes : Noes Absent : : Councilmen Drake, Johnson, Long, Mayor Glass None Councilman MacCorkle The ordinance was read the third time and Councilman Johnson moved, seconded by Councilman Drake, that the rule be suspended and the ordinance be finally passed. The motion carried by the following vote: : Councilmen Drake, Johnson, Long, Mayor Glass None Ayes Noes Absent : : Councilman MacCorkle The Mayor then announced that the ordinance had been finally passed.
