437 437 CITY OF AUSTIN. TEXAS MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS Special Meeting April 03, 1950 3:00 Ρ.Μ. Council Chamber, City Hall - The meeting was called to order with Mayor Glass presiding. Roll Call: Present: Councilmen Drake, Johnson, Long, MacCorkle, Mayor Glass Absent: None Present also: Guiton Morgan, City Manager; Trueman E. O'Quinn, City Attorney; Charles Granger, Planning Consultant; and William Parker, Planning Supervisor. Members of the Austin Housing Authority: Mr. W. W. Stewart, Administrator, Austin Housing Authority; Mr. Herman Jones, Attorney; Mr. H. R. Briggs, Economic Research Agency, were present also. MR. HERMAN JONES explained that the Council had asked that a survey be made to show if there were a need for further development of the Housing Project under the Austin Housing Authority, and Mr. Briggs was employed to make this survey and to bring the facts to the Council. Mr. Briggs submitted the report, dated April 1, 1950, to the Council. A detailed discussion was held. The Council received the report, and stated each member would study it and give an answer later. It was requested that copies of the Cooperation Agreement be furnished the Council in advance for study also. The Mayor thanked the Austin Housing Authority for its report in response to the Council's request. There being no further business, the Council recessed subject to the call of the Mayor.
