29 29 CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: Notice is hereby given that a Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Austin will be held on the 13th day of January, 1955, at the Municipal Building, Eighth and Colorado, in Austin, Texas, at 9:00 A.M. for the purpose of interviewing HAROLD WISE & ASSOCIATES, Planning Consultant. Council Chamber, City Hall 30 30 The meeting was called to order with Mayor McAden presiding. Roll call: Present: Councilmen Long, Pearson, Thompson, White, Mayor McAden Absent: None The Mayor announced that this meeting was called for the purpose of interviewing HAROLD WISE & ASSOCIATES, Planning Consultant. MR. HAROLD WISE appeared outlining his proposal for preparing the Master Plan, and his procedure. He would provide a Senior Resident Planner to be here throughout the entire project, and Mr. Wise would be here at least once a month and more often if required. He had additional personnel of various majors. He outlined his ideas about working with the State Planning Commission and also with the School planning consultant. He explained the studies to be made with reference to industrial planning and its importance. He believed it would take from two to three years to complete the job. MR. HUGO KUEHNE stated the State Planning Committee had studied the proposal and were in agreement with the Planning Commission. Mr. Kuehne stated he had contacted various officials in governmental bodies in places Mr. Wise had worked and received very commendatory replies. MR. JOHN SIMPSON, Chamber of Commerce, was glad to see this final step being taken towards materializing a master plan. The Council adjourned at 9:40 A.M. subject to the call of the Mayor.
