117.9 117A CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: Notice is hereby given that a Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Austin will be held on the 16th day of February, 1955, at the Municipal Building, Eighth and Colorado, in Austin, Texas, at 10:00 Α.Μ. for the purpose of discussing telephone rate increase matters. Council Chamber, City Hall The meeting was called to order with Mayor McAden presiding. Roll Call: Present: Councilman Long, Pearson, Thompson, Mayor McAden Absent: Councilman White Present also: W. T. Williams, Jr., Acting City Manager; Doren Eskew; Acting City Attorney; William Hodge, Assistant City Attorney, and James M. Honaker, Rate Consultant for the City. Officials of the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company were also present. MR. JAMES HONAKER had been requested to come before the Council to clarify some of the questions. The Council held a detailed discussion with Mr. Honaker and officials of the Telephone Company. Councilman Thompson moved that the Council grant to the Telephone Company an increase in gross revenue of $420,000 annually in order to provide a net increase, after income taxes, of approximately $190,000. The motion, seconded by Councilman Pearson, carried by the following vote: Councilman Pearson, Thompson, Mayor McAden Councilman Long Ayes: Noes: Absent: Councilman White There being no further business, the Council adjourned at 12:50 P.M.
