218 218 CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: Notice is hereby given that a Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Austin will be held on the 15th day of April, 1957, at the Municipal Building, Eighth and Colorado, in Austin, Texas, at 3:00 P.M. for the purpose of awarding bids on Runway and Taxiway Extensions, Robert Mueller Airport. Council Chamber, City Hall 219 219 The meeting was called to order with Mayor Miller presiding. Roll call: Present: Absent: Councilmen Long, Pearson, White, Mayor Miller Councilman Palmer The Mayor announced that this was a Special Meeting called for the purpose of awarding bids on Runway and Taxiway Extensions, Robert Mueller Airport. MR. WROE OWENS, representing MR. W. S. CONNER, appeared before the Council and withdrew Mr. Conner's bid. Councilman Pearson moved that they accept the withdrawal of Mr. W. S. Conner's bid, and that the contract be awarded to SCHWOPE BROTHERS, which was the lowest and best bid of the ones remaining to be considered. The motion, seconded by Councilman White, carried by the following vote: Ayes: Noes: Councilmen Long, Pearson, White, Mayor Miller None Absent: Councilman Palmer There being no further business, the Council adjourned at 4:30 P.M. subject to the call of the Mayor.
