22 CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN: Notice is hereby given that a Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Austin will be held on the 14th day of January, 1958, at the Municipal Building, Eighth and Colorado, Austin, Texas, at 3:00P.M. for the purpose of discussing purchase of the Janes Tract. Council Chamber, City Hall The meeting was called to order with Mayor Miller presiding. Roll call: Present: Councilmen Long, Palmer, Pearson, White, Mayor Miller Absent: None The Mayor announced that this meeting was called for the purpose of discussing the purchase of the Janes Tract on the River. He listed the great needs of the tract, and outlined previous negotiations that were made to buy it. A letter from Mr. Janes dated January 3rd, 1958, was read. The Mayor suggested that the City Pay for the paving of the street and that the City purchase the whole tract. The Council agreed that Councilman White negotiate with Mr. Janes for the tract and make him an offer as discussed this date. There being no further business, the Council adjourned at 5:00 P.
