The Mayor announced that this was a meeting of the Council to make a study of a wage increase for City employees, and to study the data submitted by the City Manager. follows: Different percentages of salary increases would raise the taxes as Salary Increase 5% 6% 72% 10% 12% Tax Increase $.124 $.144 $.18% $.244 $.30¢ The Council went over the various tables and information gathered from eleven other cities in Texas, making comparisons with Austin's wages. Explanation was made as to how the information was compiled. (On file under EMPLOYEES- Salary Increase Study) The City Manager by chart showed the various sources of income and the expenditures from each source. Discussion was held on a minimum $1.00 an hour starting wage. The Council wanted to take the figures and study them in more detail.
