Council Chamber, City Hall The meeting was called to order with Mayor Miller presiding. Roll call: Present: Councilmen Long, Palmer, Pearson, White, Mayor Miller Absent: None Present also: W. T. Williams, Jr., City Manager; Doren R. Eskew, City Attorney The Mayor announced that this meeting was called for the purpose of hearing a report of the City Manager on the meeting he had with MR. EDDY JOSEPH and his Attorney regarding the contract for Concessions at the Auditorium and Coliseum; and for the purpose of discussing the purchase of the Hart Property for the Power Plant and Dam. The City Manager submitted copies of the concession contract and pointed out the various exceptions made. He went over each page of the contract in detail, and the Council indicated the changes it wanted to make. Items discussed were the Shrine Circus with their own concessions; the cancellation clause of the contract; giving away of foods and beverages by leasees (demonstrations of food or advertisers); types of containers for drinks (Plastic, except at seated affairs or where served at tables); price list for foods and drinks to be served; vending in the stands; accounting procedures; relocating stands; payments of taxes and fees; and the procedure for the sale of beer; insurance; and other paragraphs of the contract. The Council discussed the purchase of the Hart property in connection with the Holly Street Power Station. The City Manager had maps of the area showing the property desired and outlining the proposition the Harts had submitted to the City. No decision was made at this meeting, and the City Manager was to negotiate further for the purchase of the property.
